Finding Strength for Your Journey

Ranier Maria Rilke, a 19th-century German poet, once told a would-be poet to learn to "live from a deep place". Only then, Rilke said, would his writing become great.

It isn't easy to find our "deep place" when our lives are cluttered and busy. It requires becoming still, and quiet. In helping my clients find their deep place, we begin by discovering your life purpose. Once you know your life purpose, you will have access to remarkable power to make choices and to act. That quest for fulfillment can often become so strong at midlife that we will step off the path we have been on and devote the time we need to fulfill that search. At those moments in life when we have a sense of being in the flow of things going so right - in the right place, at the right time, using our gifts - we are likely to be living out of our life purpose. We know that life purpose has become an important focus for many people as Rick Warren's book, The Purpose Driven Life, became the biggest selling self-help book in history.

Our society has become obsessed with accumulating just for the sake of accumulating. The Dalai Lama summed up very well the paradoxes of our time when he wrote in 2002:

"We have more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees, but less sense...more knowledge, but less judgment. More experts, but more problems. More medicines, but less healthiness. We have been all the way to the moon and back but have trouble crossing the street to meet the new neighbor. We build more computers to hold more information that produce more copies than ever before, but have less communication. We have become long on quantity, but short on quality. These are the times of fast foods, but weak digestion. It is a time when there is much in the window, but nothing in the room." As we live out the paradoxes of our time, we have lost the importance of being in life. That is, after all, who God created us to be - human beings. By discovering our life purpose, we are free to focus on the essence of who we are - our being. Once we do that, the rest will follow.

After we determine your life purpose, I will assist you in developing a design for your life, identify and align your values, actions and habits to begin living a richer, fuller life.

I specialize in business and executive life coaching for individuals, businesses and churches. Businesses and Churches whose leadership determine their life purpose and design their lives to align with their values can bring change not only to their lives, but to an entire community, and a nation.
